NEW WORKSHOP — The 2nd Transom Story Workshop, Spring 2012

November 10th, 2011

Our pilot session is going so well that we’ve decided to do it again in the spring. We had many more applicants than we could handle, and we want to give people another chance.

Master radio instructor Rob Rosenthal will run the 8-week program for nine beginning producers. (We’re extending by one week; tuition remains the same). I, along with the rest of the Transom Team, will help out, edit, and coach, and we’ll have a bunch of great guests, just like we did this year. For instance, Ira Glass is coming this weekend.  (Check Transom for information on his public event.)

You can read about the current session on Transom, and after the graduation next week, we’ll post the students’ work. By the way, you’re all invited to a listening event at the graduation–Woods Hole Community Hall, Friday, November 18th at 7pm.  Free.

This class is rigorous and intense. Participants produce work in conjunction with our public radio station, WCAI, and with Transom. They come away with a portfolio and a set of production skills. Admission is competitive. The deadline for application is January 2, 2012.
