Transom Donor Fund
Last year we asked Transom users to donate to the website to help us keep going. We finally decided to use those funds to give away to producers. We established The Transom Donor Fund to give a little support to people to finish projects or feature new unheralded work. The producers get small grants and editorial help. All the work will appear on Transom in the coming months. Congratulations go to:
Allison Swaim: A Year At Sea – A chronicle of life traveling on a cargo ship over the coming year.
Rich Halten: Splash – The story of a survivor of a bridge jump.
Nina Porzucki and Whitney Henry-Lester on behalf of the audio collective, The Recollective: — Sounds & Echoes – a radio and web project using music to explore Buffalo, NY.
Blunt Youth Radio: Portrait of the Bully As a Young Man – Following a bully from high school to a detention center.
Zak Rosen: Detroit Works – For support of music composition for a project about new ideas about “work” in Detroit.
Thanks to everyone who applied—we wish we had more money—and thanks to our donors who made this possible. Look for these stories soon on Transom.

Congratulations to all these producers but especially to Blunt! Thanks for disseminating funds like this, Transom.
