Online Workshop 0.2: Video

January 13th, 2014

Here’s a crop of videos from our full Transom Online Workshop (TOW). The goal is to get learners familiar with multimedia recording and editing by going out to talk to strangers, then making a short film. From their third assignment, Video Interviews:

  1. Same assignment, new medium: Use a video camera to record interviews with strangers, asking the question, “What are you afraid of?”
  2. Edit the best interview to less than three minutes in length.

Roy Dube grows wheat, barley and peas on his farm in the Palouse region of Eastern Washington, a video by Ben Lloyd.

Captain Moon Space Pirate Extraordinaire was recorded on the streets in Minneapolis, a video by Bekah Johnson (with help from Ben Lloyd).

Minister Andy Scarcliff manages fear and change for his congregation at the Portobello Baptist Church, Edinburgh, Scotland, a video by Brock Lueck.

The first beta test of our six-week workshop began November 2013 in the TOW 0.2 Facebook Group. Thanks to the Knight Prototype Fund for supporting the Transom Online Workshop.
